Looking for suggestions on things we should not miss on our one day in Belfast. We don’t want to do any of the ship’s excursions. Thanks for any suggestions.
What are the ship’s excursions?
Belfast isn’t huge.
Personally I’d not miss the Titanic Museum.
We.really enjoyed a black cab tour which I think.only took an hour so.you may have time for something else.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have checked TripAdvisor, Get your guide and Viator. I’m looking more for personal experiences, possibly private guide recommendations.
What sort of things are you interested in?
If in folk history then I really recommend the Ulster Folk Museum at Cultra on the NE outskirts of Belfast. You can get there easily by bus or train . Old buildings have been moved and rebuilt here . There is a town scape and rural area with farms etc. Costumed interpreters are around and love to talk about the buildings and life in them. You could easily spend a full day here. The site opens at 10am and they do advise booking tickets in advance to be sure of entry.
We were there in September 2021 and thought that the black cab tour was the best thing we did while visiting Belfast. We did this one https://cabtoursbelfast.com/tour/black-taxi-tour-belfast/
100% a Black Cab tour and the Titanic Experience, especially recommend the Discovery Tour that is available for an extra fee.
Both were incredibly memorable, fantastic experiences. Top it off with lunch at Mourne Seafood and you've got yourself a fantastic day.
Susie Millar, our guide on the RS Ireland tour last year, gives Titanic-themed and other tours in Belfast. I can vouch for her as an excellent guide, and I'm sure anyone who works with her would be good too.
Whether a cruise ship passenger wants to spend time thinking about the Titanic might be another question.... ;-)
