credit card question

Hello-
Traveling in Ireland and when using my credit card the card reader gives the choice of USD or Euros - which do I pick?
Thank you for your help.

Always request the local currency.

Pick Euros (and when elsewhere always also choose the local currency). Dynamic Currency Conversion usually offers a poorer exchange rate than if you paying local currency and rely on your bank's exchange rate.

The conversion margin for DCC is shared between the DCC provider and the merchant (which receives a rebate).

Whether or not to switch terminals to offer DCC is a decision of the merchant- normally it's used by those that have lots of customers who are tourists/visitors.

It will cost you more money if you get anything but Euros.

Always pay in Euros when using your credit card at restaurants and stores.
Always decline the DCC at the ATM's
