My husband and I are traveling to Europe with a layover of 4 hours in Dublin. Note- we have been to Dublin before but it's been 9 years. Anyway... we'd like to leave airport, catch a cab to a pub, have a Guinness, and head back to airport. What are your thoughts? Is this doable, or am I just asking for a missed flight?

If you like Dublin that much then Its doable go for it. But what Pub is it in the tourist area?
But is it really worth it to have to keep track of the time maybe having to chug a beer and not really relaxing?
They have pubs all over at the airport that serve Guinness I remember because they looked at me crazy when I ask if they had any other beers.

4 hrs - no way - not worth the hassle of security for me. You don't say where you are flying from/to but I am guessing you do not need to include time for immigration in Dublin?

You are asking to miss a flight :) 4 hours is just not enough time. I agree with grabbing a Guinness at the airport!

I agree, not enough time. Just have a pint of Guinness in one of the airport bars. I know, not the same, but you really don't want to go through all the security hassles for that small of a time.

Thank you all for your replies. I have accepted the fact that it's just not enough time to leave the airport, especially with security. I will just drink at the airport. 😊
