CPAP allowance

I’m flying into Shannon airport in three weeks and hope to take a carry on bag and a purse. I also need to bring my CPAP machine. In the States, the CPAP machine is not counted as an additional bag because it’s a medical device. What has your experience been ? Should I expect a problem? Thank you

I have never flown that particular airline, but I've never been questioned about an extra bag when I've had my CPAP. I have flown smaller airlines in Europe as well as American and British carriers. I was worried about that when I first started using it. If you put it in an over head bin, just watch that it is not being crushed by a heavier bag.

My husband had travelled with a CPAP for over 20 years in Europe, Asia, US, and Canada and has never had an issue bringing it on the plane along with another carry on bag.
