Finalizing some details for trip to Ireland next week and I just need one more place to stay in the Cork area. Is there any town or area that is better than another? Enjoy walking to pubs and shops. We do plan on visiting the Blarney Castle. Any tips on things to do in that area. We do have a car so that will help. Is Cobh or Kinnsale worth the visit?

I enjoyed Kinsale; it's a great town for walking with several historical sites and good pubs. It's well worth a visit.

Yes both Kinsale and Cobh are worth seeing. Fishy fishy cafe in Kinsale.
Other sites Mizen Head, Charles Fort and as you like shopping The English Market in Cork City.

How much time do you feel is needed in the Kinsale, Cork City and Cobh area?

During a 24 day trip, I spent one night in Kinsale and had enough time to enjoy the area. As with most of Ireland, I would have enjoyed more time there, but there were other areas that were higher priorities (such as Dingle), so I spent more nights in those. I didn't visit Cork or Cobh, but I would imagine that you would need at least one more day to enjoy those.
