CORK and KINSALE

I am traveling to Dublin for a long weekend, and I was thinking about taking the train to Cork/Kinsale. I am only in Ireland for 4 days...is this doable, and also is it worth it?

It's a nice ride on a modern train, for a little under three hours. Add in the time to get to the stations, pack and unpack at hotels, and you're losing at least half a day -- and then you have to return. I'd be happy to spend all of four days in Dublin. Just being there is reward enough. (PS: I liked Cork a lot too, but not on your schedule.)

I wouldn't do this with so little time. Once you get to Cork the bus to Kinsale is an hour ride, and I'm not sure how frequently it goes so might have to wait for it a while. Best to spend all four days in Dublin. Lots to see and do.

If you really wanted to get out of Dublin during that time, Belfast is only 90 minutes away by train. It could easily be a day trip.

Agree with all the above. With your short time, would just focus on Dublin and add Belfast as Nancy suggested. You could also add a tour of Newgrange. Although we really enjoyed Kinsale, I think it is just too much for your short time.
