Connecting from American Airlines to Aer Lingus

Our upcoming flight to Shannon in Sept. starts with American Airlines thru Philly to Heathrow, then connects with Aer Lingus to Shannon. When we check in on AA, does that check us thru even on Aer Lingus or do we have to check in directly with Aer Lingus. We will be carrying on our luggage so know need to recheck our bags.

To further increase connectivity between the U.S and Europe for customers, American Airlines will place its code on Aer Lingus flights ... from LHR to Belfast City, Northern Ireland (BHD); Cork (ORK) and Shannon (SNN).
