While in Ireland my wife and I would like to go to Einskillen from Dublin, my maternal great great grandfather was born there in 1815. Is there Commercial Bus or Rail Service from Dublin to there and return as a day trip?

The only way I know is taking Bus Route 30, it goes from Dublin to Cavan to Enniskillen and then I believe up to Donegal Town. But I think you have to change buses or stop for a bit in Cavan. If so Cavan is a great little town for lunch and a nice walk. I want to say the time table is about 3 and a half to 4. I only say this cause if I remember correctly the bus doesn't take the motorway.
Thanks for the reply Sarah, sounds like it might be kind of relaxing and an opportunity to see some countryside too. I was a first officer for an airline and we would sometimes make a fuel stop at Shannon, was usually at night and often cloudy so didn't see much and we were focused on flying the plane. We would also sometimes land at Prestwick outside of Glasgow, Scotland; same story.
