I need opinions on whether to stay in Cobh or Kinsale. Rick Steves lives Cobh however I have heard Kinsale is great. Also, which one is easier to travel to and from Cork by train? Thanks in advance.

Cobh is about 30 minutes from Cork by train or bus. It has about 13K residents so it may have a bit more happening compared to Kinsale, which has about 6K residents. Kinsale is a 45-minute bus ride from Cork. No train service to Kinsale.
Both get raves, so with either town you’ll enjoy your visit.

Cobh has more of a small city feel than Kinsale which has a village atmosphere.I felt Kinsale is easier to walk around than Cobh which has a couple of steep hills especially to the Cathedral. Both are still enjoyable in their own way.

Try looking at Google images for both Cobh and Kinsale. That may help give a feel for the two places...
