Clonakilty to Cork day trip suggestions.

Hi,
We have an extra day while in Clonakilty and would like to know what people have enjoyed in either Cork or Kinsale.

And what method of transportation would be easiest. Wouldn't mind just hiring a driver versus a bus etc. But want a repudable company.

Our preferences slant more towards Castles and museums versus geography. (We've been to Dingle so that's off our list for this trip).

thanks so much

We really enjoyed Charles Fort near Kinsale. It is a star-shaped fort, quite large and historically important--I believe it is a National Monument. There are guided tours available though we chose to explore on our own. I'd recommend it!

Well, it's not either, but....

Cobh! (pronounced Cove). It's where the Titanic last set off, has amazing history, the Lusitania bodies and survivors came through and the monuments are amazing. It's very picturesque. It's right around that vacinity!
