We will be driving from Shannon to the Cliffs then on to Ashford Castle, how long should we plan to spend at the Cliffs to do it justice. Do people just walk up and look out over the Atlantic and that's it or is there trails that you follow or guides who give talks or anything else. From what I see I think 2 hours should be enough time to enjoy the Cliffs, am I correct??
In my opinion 2 hours is plenty of time.
I agree with the other poster, two hours should be plenty. There is a beautiful visitor center built into the hillside where you can get a different view of the Cliffs. You can also walk up to O'Brien's tower and see them from outside. The visitor center has programs that might interest you, but I have no idea what the timing of those is. You can check it all out on their website, www.cliffsofmoher.ie.
Donald, my husband and I had around two hours when we visited and I wish we would have had another hour or so just to keep walking along and exploring. I guess it just depends on how much hiking you want to do.
Two to three hours should be plenty depending on your interest level. TC
