Cliffs of moher from Doolin

Our cab driver in Dublin said to park in doolin and take a cab or bus to the cliffs and then I guess walk book to doolin on the cliffs - has anyone done this ? Is it easy to figure out and safe-ish - we did diamond hill in Connemara national park yesterday - and the trail was fine there - is this similar - any advice?

Apparently it is. After my most recent visit to Ireland, I found out about the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk: https://www.cliffsofmoher.ie/your-visit/beyond-the-cliffs-places-to-see/cliffs-of-moher-coastal-walk/. The page says the round-trip walk, which starts (or ends) in Doolin, is just a bit of two miles long.

If you're interested in long-distance walks, I've taken two 100-mile-long hikes in Ireland, the Wicklow Way (https://www.wicklowway.com/) and the Dingle Way (https://www.dingleway.com/). Stunningly beautiful.

The beginning of the cliff walk is very near Fisher Street, the center of Doolin town. You could walk from there uphill to the Visior Center and then take a bus or taxi back, or as you said, take a bus or taxi to the visitor center and walk downhill back. I have read that the trail south of the Visitor Center, which I though mor scenic, is closed currently.

We recently did the cliff walk from Doolin to the visitors center. It was completely safe, gorgeous and muddy and we mostly had the trail to ourselves. The last portion, closest to the visitor center, is closed. They have blocked off the path next to the road and tell hikers to turn around there due to the narrow road and no walking shoulder. We soldiered on, at the advice of a local guide, waving and hopping aside when cars approached. It was no more than half a mile to the visitor center, I think it was only 5 miles total, including the walks to the viewpoints. We didn’t spend much additional time at the top—more cliff views! — then took the bus back to Doolin since it was starting to rain. Btw, the cliffs are open to all to view without a ticket. The trail from the visitor center south is completely closed.
