Where to stay when visiting Cliffs of Moher, Connemara from Dingle

Hello! I will be traveling from Dingle, north to the Cliffs of Moher. I will be spending 2 nights in the general area. I'm hoping to visit the cliffs on our drive north, and spend the next day exploring the Connemara area (our full day), possibly Aran Islands the next morning.

We will be driving from Dingle. As was recommended to me here on the forum, we are planning to drive via Adare/Limerick. It looks like that should take about 3 hours, plus any stops along the way or traffic.

Ideally, I'd like to spend 2 nights in one location, probably Galway or something nearby, maybe even closer to Connemara area. Would you recommend staying in Doolin (close to the cliffs, shortening the day's drive), Galway, or a smaller town like Roundstone or Clifdon? The other option I'm considering is staying one night in Doolin, and the pushing further north for the following night.

Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

I think your last idea is good--one night in Doolin. O'Connor's Pub is fun for music and the food is pretty good. We stayed at a place recommended in Rick's book called the Family Leisure Center and liked it. It is basic but clean and breakfast (included) was very good. They did laundry for us--important! Our room had a view of a sheep pasture. Plenty of parking and it is very near the pub. Next door to the pub is a sweater shop with a thatched roof--very cute place.
