Has anyone visited the cliffs of kilkee? How does it compare to the cliffs of Moer ?
We hope to visit on our drive from Galway to Dingle.
Thanks very much!

I really enjoyed the Cliffs of Kilkee. Visiting them had a much more casual, municipal park-like feel than did visiting the Cliffs of Moher, which have a Big Tourism-type setup. The Cliffs of Kilkee are only about half as high, but very beautiful.
Agreed. We much prefer the cliff walk at Kilkee over Moher. It's a much more pleasant experience thanks to the lack of crowds. You'll likely have the walk mostly to yourselves.
Kilkee town is a pleasant stop for coffee, lunch, or just a stroll to stretch your legs a bit. The beachfront there is quite pretty and there are a number of convivial little cafes to choose from, The Diamond Rocks Cafe located near the parking area - at the end of the road from town and at the start of the walk - has a pretty decent menu and you can't beat the views.
One interesting factoid about the place is that the actor Richard Harris (Dumbledore, etc) was a local lad back in his youth and apparently an athlete of some repute before embarking on his acting career. There's a little memorial to him near the Diamond Rocks ... not far from his former home a bit further up the street.
Recently was a Kilkee and I agree with the above posters. Much quieter and scenic. Easier access, parking.
You have to see a cliff from a side view to appreciate any height. Or else crawl to the edge and look over. Otherwise cliffs are cliffs.
Another thing is at Kilkee you can swim in the natural smooth rock swimming pools near the start. They are nice.
Anything is better than ther tourist circus of Cliffs of Moher!!!
There's also the Cliffs of Kerry. Very similar to Moher without the people. While you're there, take a boat trip to Skellig Michael for more people (and puffins).
Thanks for the question. I just added Kilkee to our trip from Dingle to Doolin.
