We will be visiting Western Ireland in early October. 3 nights in Galway? If so, where to stay? Clifden instead of Galway?

Can you give a little more information? It's hard to suggest a place to stay without knowing your budget or what type of lodging you are looking for - hotel? B&B? hostel? What did you intend to see in the Galway area? Galway to Clifden is about a two hour drive. Are you wanting to drive the Connemara area anyway? If so, Clifden would be a good stopping point. The more information you can offer, the better we can advise you.
