Civita Hemp Day Pack and Cultural Sensitivity

Hello All,

Would it be offensive (or draw negative attention) to use my Civita Hemp day pack throughout Ireland; especially outside of Dublin? I did not think of this as a problem until recently when I encountered "questionable looks and comments" in Pennsylvania.

Can't imagine anyone giving a rip one way or the other as long as the hemp is on the outside of the day pack.

Are you rolling your Civita Day Pack into a giant spliff and lighting it up? I would normally wonder why anyone would give your day pack "questionable looks and comments", but then you mentioned Pennsylvania. Having lived there for a long time, it explains a lot as it's like hillbilly country between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh so it wouldn't surprise me that some yahoo would make a dumb comment about a fabric.

No one in Ireland will care or look twice even if you wrapped yourself from head to toe in hemp. If it makes you feel better, my family lives in a small village in Western Ireland and I've seen some of the girls wearing hemp infinity scarves and pants to kick around in during the summer.

Just curious-- how does anyone identify something as made of hemp vs. other natural fibers?

There in nothing on those bags indicating they are made of hemp (no large leaf printed on them, no 6-inch letters saying HEMP, no smell of hemp), so how would anyone know what the bag is made from unless told? They just appear to be made from a slightly rough canvas.

Unless it has an enormous ganja leaf embroidered on it I can't imagine anyone even noticing it and even if it did (have a giant cannabis leaf) I doubt most people would care.

Greetings from one of Dingles 56 pubs, I have just asked this question out loud in the bar to 12 Irish people (a random cross-section of Irish society, albeit a drinking crowd).
One cheeky rascal nearly rolled on the floor chortling and chucklinh, but all the others discussed the issue in a mature fashion and we have all just agreed. "Bring you civita hemp day pack with you to Ireland, you'll be grand"
Looking forward to seeing you in Dingle

Hello again,

I appreciate all of your (humorous) comments. I know it was a silly question to ask, but I was serious about offending others. Glad to hear that it is a non issue.

Thank you Stephen especially for asking my question to a lively Irish pub crowd. Cant get a more true and authentic answer than that!!!

See you in Dingle,
Joseph.

I'm inspired by Stephen answering Forum questions from the pub and believe that I should start to do the same.

Since you're going to Ireland, please note that the Civita Hemp day pack is nowhere near waterproof.
