Hello!
My family and I are doing the Heart of Ireland tour beginning June 2. We actually arrive in Dublin on May 25. Our best friends from Southampton, England are arriving May 26 and will be with us until May 30. Our group is two couples and two 14 year old girls.
Our 20th wedding anniversary is May 4. Due to our daughter’s volleyball commitments, we are very busy in May so we have decided to celebrate our anniversary while in Ireland. I’ll preview our schedule below, and would love recommendations on a great place to have a celebratory dinner. Not looking for somewhere fancy....just want a great overall experience.
During the time our friends are with us, we’ll be basing ourselves out of Dublin but planning day trips to places like Howth, Belfast, etc (unfortunately they misunderstood us and thought our tour began in Dublin, and they booked a non refundable room). For the dates below between June 2 and June 9, I’m listing the city we’ll be at along the tour where there is no planned group dinner.
May 25 through 29 - Dublin or any surrounding area with easy drive/train return to hotel
May 30, 31 - Donegal
June 1 - undecided, but maybe Galway
June 4 - Dingle
June 5 - Kilkenny
