I haven't stayed there before, but I have stayed in that area many times before. Do look up and try Paris Bakery & Pastry. It's located on 18 Moore St., Dublin 1
It has a really amazing Irish Breakfast and some of the best french pastries I've ever had.
I really love staying in that area of Dublin.

we stayed there about 4 years ago and thought it was perfectly fine. good location for walking and buses.

I stayed at Cassidys last May. It is a perfectly adequate hotel. Not terribly fancy but well located and reasonably priced. We did not eat at the restaurant however so I cannot speak to that. The only minor complaints I had were that the rooms were a tad small and it was a bit noisy, not enough to put me off staying there again however. The front desk people were very accommodating.
