Hello -- a friend and I are traveling to Ireland for a conference and plan to spend a few days traveling around in southwestern Ireland. I was just wondering -- how commonly is credit accepted (for food, gas, attractions) vs. cash?

We have never had a problem with credit cards all over Ireland in numerous trips. Would not.use American Express though. We always carry some cash just in case we want to buy something small, cup of tea, post cards etc. Some.places.may not take CC for purchases under 10 euro..we find that true in the states as well.
