Car rentals between Ireland and Scotland

We're flying to Dublin in September and renting a car when we leave Dublin as recommended by RS. We want to spend 10 days in Ireland and take the ferry from Belfast to Troon, Scotland and spend 10 days in Scotland and fly home from Edinberg, Scotland, Does anyone know of a car rental company that allow pick up Ireland and drop off in Scotland?? Or is it better to rent in Dublin and leave off in Dublin and take RYAN air to Edinberg and rent another car there? Thanks Suzy

you would pay a fortune to rent a car in Dublin and take it to Scotland, if it's even possible.

Much better to rent a car in Ireland, return it in Ireland, then transfer to Scotland and rent a separate car there.
