I am getting conflicting reviews on Easy Rent Cars. They are a bit cheaper, but if they have lousy service and hidden fees, then they become a "I do not wish to rent from them" company.
Does anyone have a suggestion of a decent automatic car rental company at the airport in Dublin, or has anyone rented from Easy Rent Cars
and have a good/bad review on them?
Went with Budget. Got car at Airport and off I went. Be certain to get as much insurance as possible. Roads can be tiny and you may find bramble scratches or as my friend discovered, sideview mirrors can be knocked off easily.
Also you’ll need to get used to roundabouts as they are the norm. Easy once you get the hang of them though.
I’ve driven the entire island once , Dublin to Belfast to Sligo to Dingle to Kinsale to Cashel over the Sally Gap and back to Dublin. All with a stick but I’m of the age that I learned to drive with a clutch so easy peasy.
Last trip drive from Belfast to Dingle in a day.
We rented Budget at the airport in Dublin. We drove to Galway and back and had only one real problem that I wanted to share--hopefully you'll have an easier time than we did. As with any car rental company, they want the car returned with a full/mostly full tank. We figured we'd fill up at a station near the airport before drop off--no worries, right? Wrong--it was later in the evening and the stations wern't manned.....and the card machines at the pumps would not take a chip and signature credit card--only a chip and pin. We drove for a long time (probably seemed longer than it was because it was dinner time) looking for a human to give our American-style chip and signature card to. Just be prepared--we travel enough to justify a European-style chip and pin card.
