My husband and I are making a short detour to Castleisland, Ireland on our way to Scotland in September. We are flying into Dublin and were considering taking a bus to Castleisland, once there we would rent a car as our lodgings are 6 or so km from town. My husband will be the driver & he will be 72. There aren't any car rental places that I could find in Castleisland so we were thinking of taking the bus to Kerry Airport instead. Because of our age we're having trouble finding a car rental. Does anyone have any ideas where we can get a rental for 3 days?

I am in a similar situation with age. And had success last week booking a car through Holiday Auto. We’re picking the car up at the Dublin airport and returning it 3 weeks later. Their age limit seems to,be 79 (I’m 72) before extra charges pile on. They also include all insurance in their total charge. Prices were comparable with other agencies that have age limits.
