I'm preparing to book our May 2027 trip to Ireland in a week or so when the airline will let me (I know I'm OCD). Our trip must start with a Thursday car hire at DUB (due to trad sessions), and a 4/29 rental for three weeks is 232 Euros while a hire the following Thursday is 1400 Euros! Amazing difference. I went ahead and made the car reservation since I think Budget (via Costco) might read this! It pays to look...
We just finished a Costco rental in Ireland. Pricing is the best. We had our letter of insurance from Chase but weren’t asked for it.
There are tolls around the country, be prepared for the transponder question.
I've happily used Costco before - last time was via Alamo. The remarkable price rise between 4/29 and 5/6 is what boggles the mind. Going straight to Budget shows the same aberration. Anyway, 11€/day is an amazing deal, especially when it includes a 2nd driver and no 3rd degree about the CDW waiver.
That is a great deal. For some reason, whenever I try and book through Costco in Europe, they never offer anything for the places I’m going. Sigh.
