Car ferry to Inishmore?

Based on Rick Steves Ireland (2019), it sounds the ferry from Roosaveal to Inishmore is for pedestrians only--we would need to leave our car at the pier in Roosaveal until we return. Is that correct? Or can we bring the car to the island?

Pedestrians only. There's free parking provided by the ferry company at the landing.

Once on the island, you can hire a taxi or perhaps a pony trap. The ferry does, however, accommodate bicycles.
