Cancelled Family Event- Need Ireland Itinerary Advice

My husband and I booked a trip to Ireland in August for a family event. The event has unexpectedly been cancelled this week. (It's probably for the best.) The change fees, etc. for our flights and lodging don't really make cancelling our plans realistic.

So, we reorganize! We are booked (and paid) at an Airbnb in Dublin Aug 10-13. We have three more days. What should we do?

We are currently booked for two nights at the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Ireland. We could keep that reservation and explore that area, but I'd love suggestions. We fly out Aug. 16 from Dublin.

One unexpected pleasure in Dublin was taking the streetcar out to Kilmainham Gaol, and also the Irish Museum of Contemporary Art across the road, up in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, which was a retirement hospital for soldiers. They're on either side of the same building complex, set on lovely grounds with a great view of the city. I also loved the Dubh Linn garden, and the visible remnants of the very oldest structures in the city. And the National Museum of Ireland, Archaeology, totally worth a visit, especially if you have Irish roots. We don't learn much about Irish history and civilization in America--I felt less forgotten and more in touch with my ancestors after going there. Lots of great things... you don't even need to go into Temple Bar to find lots to see and do.

Honestly I'd drop Ardmore and visit the West Coast.

Do an early morning leave from Dublin and drive to Galway. 2.5 hours . Late Breakfast, early lunch. South to the Cliffs of Mohr. Then Drive to Dingle, 2 nights in Dingle.

Slea Head, Gap of Dunloe and Killarney National park.

Drive back to Dublin stopping to see the Rock of Cashel.

On one of your Dingle days take the bus or train 2 hour ride to Belfast. Titanic Museum, St Georges Market, mussels and seafood chowder at Mournes Seafood. Back to Dublin. That way you can say you saw two countries during your stay.

An alternative would be Trim and Valley of the Boyne area. Near Dublin with lots of historic sites
