Buying tickets in advance

My wife and I are going to be in Galway on October 4th. We plan on visiting the Aral Islands on that day. I see that the ferry from Galway ceases on 9/22. Would it be wise to purchase the tickets now for the bus/ferry from Rossaveel to InisMor?

I would say yes - do it in advance. Check the cancellation policy, but these ferries can be very crowded and you risk not getting a ticket. We visited in August (high season) - October may be less people, but also fewer boats!
