Is the original Bushmills whiskey you can purchase at the distillery the same as you can get elsewhere in Ireland?
Yes......you do know that Bushmills is Northern Ireland. Jamesons and Teeling are from the south.
Don’t miss the Giant’s Causeway or Dunluce Castle while you are in Bushmills.
Last time I was there I found the bottle prices a wee bit higher compared to local shops!
Not sure if it's still the case, but the Bushmills bottling plant used to also be used for Jameson, which would arrive in a tanker. Both brands are owned by Diageo.
Did the Bushmills distillery tour last week. They have one whiskey (Bushmills Reserve) that is only available onsite. Many other options also available in the Bushmills store, but those you can get elsewhere. They did have a new line - Causeway Select - that might only be available there, but it was really pricey!
Hello from Wisconsin,
there is absolutely no reason to buy a bottle of Whiskey at Bushmills and lug it around on your trip, except to be able to claim to friends, if you share, that it was purchased there. Buy a bottle at the airport. Lie to your friends.
Try Tullamore Dew. A mighty fine every evening whiskey. I see in our local stores that they now have The Dew on the top shelf with the big boys.

I was just wondering if the whiskey they export is any different than the distillery sold stuff. Plus there are typse only sold at the distillery,
Thanks, Wayne. I haven't been through Stevens Point since, Monday.
