Could you recommend a day bus tour from Dublin to Glendalaugh that operates in October? My husband and I will be based in Dublin and would like to explore some day hiking tours.

We took this tour by Wild Rover. We went the week of Thanksgiving in 2019. It takes you to more places than just Glendalough. It included time at Glendalough to walk on the trails by the lake.

This is most likely not what you meant by bus tour but it is an option if you didn't want to be on a tour bus schedule. There is a public bus that leaves Dublin at 11:30 AM and arrives in Glendalough at 12:50 PM. It departs Glendalough at 4:30 PM and arrives in Dublin at 6:00 PM. So 3.5 hours in Glendalough to spend as you please. https://www.glendaloughbus.com/default.aspx

Several companies offer tours in October to Glendalough and Powerscourt Gardens saying you have time to walk and explore....
This one offers the option of a guided walk too... Pick up is 9.20 from Dublin, returning to Dublin for 17.30
