Any hints about making the bus connection coming off the train from Dublin?
Can you buy a ticket on the bus, or do you need to get one in advance?

You can buy tickets on the bus. But if you're buying the train ticket online in order to get a discount over in-person fares (even on the same day of travel) then you might have time to book your bus ticket, as well. It looks like the bus ticket needs to be printed and is valid for a specific date, but not a time.
