Hi:
We are flying into Brussels and traveling to Bruge-total time of 4-5 days. Any suggestions on where to stay, what to do?
We are a Mom and an Adult son and like activity and interesting places.

I spent 3 nights in Ghent and day-tripped to Bruges. Ghent is between Bruges and Brussels and hotels are cheaper there. It's easy to day trip to either, and to Antwerp as well. Ghent is a lovely Gothic town with a university so there's more going on in the evenings that Bruges.
