Hello! Any recommendations on Boyne Valley Tours? Does anyone have experience with the private Boyne Valley Tours - specifically the Boyne Valley Highlights tour?
We used them in 2019 and would recommend them. We didn’t do a specific tour, my son made a list of sites we wanted to see and they accommodated us. We went to Trim Castle, Beactive Abbey, Hill of Tara, Monasterboice (my favorite) and then Newgrange including entry into the passage tomb. We actually did our tour on our arrival day, they picked us up at the airport then took us to our hotel in Dublin after. I highly recommend visiting the archeology museum in Dublin too, they have the Tara broach and other interesting artifacts from ancient Ireland on display. It’s not huge but we’ll done. We used the RS guide to tour the museum.
Don't forget about the east which has a railway line to Belfast. Stop in Drogheda see the St Olivers Head in St Peters Church and you can also visit Newgrange - you can get a bus to it from the bus depot which is a 10 min walk from the train station. Slane Castle is worth a visit in my opinion too. Keep an eye on the restrictions though and be prepared to wear masks and to social distance.
