We will be in Dublin with a full day for sightseeing. Unfortunately it is a Saturday. I've checked with one tour company about tours of Newgrange, and other nearby historic sites, but this company did not have any openings. Any tips on tour guides or ways to get to this area without a car would be appreciated!

You should probably let people know which tours you’ve already checked with so you’re not getting the same company mentioned. We toured Newgrange with Mary Gibbons and would recommend.

Good point. Boyne Valley Tours had no openings on the Saturday in June we will be there.

Have you contacted the Dublin visitor center: https://www.dublintown.ie/business/dublin-visitor-centre/? It’s one of the best I’ve visited.
