Is there a particular order that must be followed when visiting the Book of Kells? Can one look at the book, then spend more time in the museum? Or do you have to look through the museum and end by viewing the Book of Kells?
Thanks,
Tom

The book itself (or anyway, select pages from the book) is in a display case near the beginning of the exhibit. Most people follow the logical flow from room to room, but you can backtrack as much as you want to revisit whatever interests you.
It tends to get crowded around the Book itself, so it might make sense to go back once or twice to take advantage of a lull in the action, and get a second close look. You can spend as much time as you want in the Book of Kells exhibit.
You DO exit the exhibition by going into the Trinity College library. Once you're in the library, you can't go back. As far as I know, this is the only public access to the library, which is a breathtakingly beautiful space (and a must-see if you're a book geek like me!)
Buy advance tickets online to avoid the line for tickets. You don’t even have to go in at the time on the ticket! This saved us about an hour of our vacation time.
Loved learning how this ancient manuscript was made and the library is breathtaking!
