In many trips all over Ireland we've yet to experience a B&B that didn't meet the high standards of the Irish Tourist Board. Because of the prevalence of the internet today, the guidebook in the first link contains far fewer listings than its earlier editions. Just pick and choose or even show up in a town and knock on a few doors to get a room. We've also never had a problem doing just that.
One advantage of traveling in Co. Donegal is that very few tourists go there (despite how Yogi Berra put it!).
