I recently watched the documentary Blow Ins about people who have moved to the Dingle Peninsula of Ireland. Very enjoyable.
It's available on Amazon Prime.

Thanks for the tip, Frank.
Adding it to my list of things to watch. Thanks!
Thank you!
I agree that it was enjoyable, but there were times I wish it had subtitles. ;-)
Frank, thank you very much for posting this. Being "tightwods," we've never paid extra beyond our limited cable package to watch something in TV or on-line, but this might take us over the edge :) I watched the snippets I found Googling, and it looks very interesting....so we might "make the investment"...giggle.
And to think, if I had just been able to locate a copy of my grandmother's birth certificate (which I was told by a cousin in Ireland that it burned in a church fire, along with those of many of my grandmother's brothers/sisters...there were a dozen of them raised in a tiny stone cottage), we might actually be a "blow in" now or (more likely) just have the satisfaction of knowing we could have that choice.
And, Andrea, I totally agree, subtitles would be so helpful. I usually have to listen and extra time or two to understand Irish English, and on the phone I have to ask for repeats too many times. In person it is a bit easier. I wonder if we are as hard for them to understand, too. None of my Irish relatives or people with whom we interfaced our visit asked us to repeat anything, so likely not.
Frank, thank you for the suggestion about Blow Ins. It was very good, but I agree about subtitles. There was one person who was very difficult to understand. Thank you again! F

The program has English closed captioning. Just turn them on.
It was very enjoyable, thank you! I second the use of closed captioning to watch it. I do this all the time with any scripted television show/movie where folks are speaking with a British, Irish, and/or Scottish accent. I don't have a great ear for their accents and also have a hard time distinguishing among the accents (i.e., what country/region it is from).
Delightful - thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion of closed captioning. I may watch it again that way.
I saw the show. I will be blowing in myself in a month. Staying for three nights. I will assess what all the fuss is about.
