Between Waterford and Dublin

We'll be in Ireland in mid November and I'd love to get some suggestions what to do on our last day.

Our next-to-last night will be at the Cliff House hotel near Waterford. We'll check out after breakfast and then drive back to Dublin, where we have a flight the next morning.

We'll have spent a few days in Dublin at the start of the trip.

Any suggestions for that final afternoon/evening? Waterford? Kilkenny? Something else?

How about Glendalough? It is the ruins of a monastic settlement, with the highest (I think) round tower in Ireland. There are trails to the lake and St Kevin's cave. There is a nice little museum there that explains the area and tells about the monasteries of Ireland, too. It's also not far from Avoca, where you can see the oldest woollen mill in Ireland (when I was there they let you walk around among the weavers and watch them work).

Second vote for Glendalough. It's really beautiful. Take your time and hike around. Also consider a stop at the Powerscourt Estate (and gardens) in Enniskerry, which is also beautiful.

Yep - Glendalough for sure. Maybe to include a leisurely drive through the Wicklow Mountains via the old Military Road back into Dublin.
Time permitting you could also stop by New grange and the Battle of the Boyne sites just north of the airport before turning in your car.
