Looking for the best way to travel round trip in one day from Dublin, Ireland to Birr Castle other than a taxi. . My wife and I would like to depart in the AM on Saturday 28 September 2024 from Dublin and return late afternoon.

Assuming you aren't including driving the 0900 train from Dublin Heuston to Limerick (with a change at Limerick Junction) arrive 1108 (preferably the 0800 to allow for any late running) then Bus Eireann 72 at 1125 arrive at 1300.
Return bus at 1831 arrive Limerick 1958, depart by train at 2100, change at Limerick Junction. Arrive Dublin Heuston 2301
