Need a little help please!! We are flying in to Dublin and was wondering the best transportation to city center!! Don’t want to end up in an unofficial ‘ taxi’ and be charged way more!! Is there a place where the official taxis are?! And is there a set rate fee?!
Alternatively there are a couple of different bus firms offering scheduled journeys between the airport and city centre. I used Dublin Express and was entirely satisfied.
Instead of taking a taxi take the Dublin Express bus from the airport to Dublin's city center (€10.40).
We’ve been to Dublin twice and used a taxi both times. The taxi line was right outside the airport exit to the right, hard to miss, the fare was based on where they take you in town, so not fixed but I don’t remember as being a whole lot. It does cost a bit more than a bus but worth it to me to not have to schlep my bags around and figure out where my hotel is when I’m pooped after an international flight
Dublin Express or Air Coach buses go directly into the city center. (But I believe have different stops, so choose the one closest to your destination. So easy and convenient. Of course a taxi is never a bad choice.
We went to the taxi rank and were able to get a taxi right away. I don't remember the cost as being expensive. We prefer door to door service; we are older, and we don't want to schlep our bags around. All the taxi drivers are very nice, and they love to give sightseeing recommendations. They are very proud of their city.
It depends on how many people you are. Bus is cheapest for one, taxi is cheapest for 3 or more ( and you get to where you're going). We usually go straight to the taxi stand and pay what they ask.
