Best time to book Hotels in Dublin

My family (4 adults) are traveling to Ireland at the end of August early September. How far in advance should we book hotels to get the best price? Right now they are looking pretty expensive.

That’s school holiday time, so I would’ve booked it back in December/January for the most options.

Have you considered renting an apartment rather than staying in hotels? It may offer better value - see VRBO, Trip Advisor rentals or Booking.com.

Shoot! we just booked our airline last night! We have but it seems about the same. I was reading elsewhere that 4-6 in advance may be the best time.

I agree with Jennifer. You need to book now. Dublin is expensive anytime and more so during school vacations. If you can’t find a hotel in your price range try VRBO or Air BnB,

Dublin is an expensive city anytime. I have in the past used booking.com and their cancelable option and kept an eye on prices. In some cases, when the price decreased, I was abel to cancel and book a cheaper hotel.

I'm heading there the same time and the responses had me a little worried. I did a Google search on school holidays in Dublin 2018, and it looks like they go back to school the week of September 1, though that may not be true in all cases. Three different websites gave me the same information.

I've been getting updates on Trip Advisor regarding some prices at some hotels, but I'll be continuing to watch also.
