Best places to stay around Dingle

Hello, we will be in the Dingle Penninsula area for three nights in September. Any suggestions on accomodations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We stayed at Murphy's B&B, not the one above the pub, next door. Very nice family, nice, clean rooms, beautiful view, everything was within walking distance.

We stayed at Alpine Guesthouse May 5-7 2016 (two nights) and found it very nice. We found it in Rick's book, and if you get the book you will find that his recommendations are sound—at least we always have.

We absolutely loved Browne's B&B. The hosts, John and Camilla, were fabulous. On our arrival, they spent a while going over their favorite pubs and restaurants with us, told us where the best live music would be on the nights we were there, etc. They gave us great tips on lesser known sites to see on the Slea Head Drive. The breakfasts were excellent. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat, can't recommend it enough. Only note is that it is a little bit outside the downtown core, but it's a lovely and safe walk along the harbor, or a 2 minute drive.

We love Pax Guest House. It is uphill from town with an amazing view over the harbor. The owner, John, is wonderful, as are the breakfasts! It is quiet at night and there are chickens, a friendly dog named Rio and a sweet kitty. The seaview rooms are worth the extra few Euros.

I want to second the recommendation for Browne's B&B. Everything stated by the previous poster is 100% accurate. They were so accommodating with my husband's gluten and dairy restrictions. I'd definitely stay with them again because we had a great time, and the room rate was very affordable.

We stayed at the Lighthouse B&B and loved it. It is a fairly new purpose build B&B and is really nice with ample parking. The view of Dingle and the bay is fantastic. Dennis and Mary are great hosts and very helpful. We would happily stay there again.

We stayed at Milestone House on both of our trips to Ireland and loved it! Barbara and Michael are wonderful hosts and are really helpful in orienting guests to the layout of the town and providing suggestions for activities and dining options. The breakfasts were great (Michael is known for his soda bread) and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. It is located right at the start of the Slea Head drive.

We stayed at the Greenmount Guesthouse in Dingle last October and really enjoyed it. Great location up the hill from Dingle, overlooking Dingle Bay. Delicious breakfasts and very personable host. If you have time be sure and drive over Conor Pass...in addition to the Dingle Peninsula..

Greetings from Dingle!

As you can see from the various posts, there are tons of good places to stay in Dingle. Theres nowhere that is bad to be honest in my opinion.

You just need to ask yourself what type of accommodation you want.
We have 2 hotels, about 10 big guesthouses, probably 40 or so smaller B&Bs and 3 hostels. The prices and quality vary of course, particularly the price.

But overall the quality of accommodation in Dingle is excellent. I've led 150 tours to Dingle for Rick Steves over 20 years and have stayed in every B&B mentioned in previous posts, its all down to personal preference and as you can see from the posts, its often the friendly hosts who are the highlight not necessarily the property.

Thank you! And how many days would you recommend staying in the Dingle area. We will want to see the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry before we head to Cork. Is Dingle the best base to see both places? We were thinking three nights...?

I think 3 nights is reasonable for Dingle. You didn't say how long your entire trip is, so it's a little hard to judge. I love Dingle, and could happily stay longer than 3 nights, but you can reasonably see the area and enjoy the town in that time.

We first visited Ireland and the Dingle Peninsula in 2001. After many years of traveling extensively throughout Europe and the United States we found ourselves feeling a pull to go back to Dingle and to this day, in our opinion, it is the most beautiful spot we have ever visited. In September of 2014 we returned to the Dingle Peninsula and rented a house for three weeks and settled in like a local. It was amazing and as beautiful as we had remembered!!! Any amount of time you get to stay there is a gift....

We just left the Dingle Peninsula and really loved our stay at Gorman's Clifftop House and Restaurant, with the caveat that it is not in Dingle proper but rather about 15 minutes out along the Slea Head Dr. near Ballydavid. The views and tranquility were awesome; our room with sea view was enormous and the food quite good. We ended up spending time in Dingle during the day but preferring not to do the drive at night, quite enjoying the slower pace of Gorman's. Dingle itself we found to be rather touristy and not a town we'd enjoy staying in- but Gorman's and the rest of of the peninsula were amazing.
