I know in the book Rick does not recommend driving in Dublin. I know on his suggested 3 week itinerary he list "Rent car, Glendalough". So is this the best place to rent a car? Is yes, how do you get there via public transportation? Or should I stick with going back to the airport after a few days in Dublin to get our rental car?

Good advice not to drive in Dublin. Rather than go to the airport, when renting a car in Dublin for our onward journey, we have used Hertz. They are situated on the North Circular Road.

I read that abbreviated trip plan as "rent car, then drive to Glendalough." Although Rick seems to favor airport pick-up, p. 31 of the book mentions city addresses for 4 of the bigger agencies.

If you are leaving from Galway is it best to rent a car in Galway or from Shannon Airport?
