Best of Ireland tour group Covid cases

We are booked for the Best of Ireland tour beginning July 1. I am interested in Covid cases so far in these tour groups. The general weekly tour updates do not tell us that information.

Have you tried emailing the tour group address for this information. Phones practically impossible to reach them, but I have success with email.

I was on the May 20th Best of Ireland tour. No one tested positive for Covid at the end of our 14 day tour. It is a wonderful tour....enjoy every amazing moment.

We are definitely looking forward to a wonderful tour. A few weeks ago, I did email RS tours. They only answered in general terms, no specific numbers for Ireland tour, only that circumstances change week to week. I just would like to know the situation up to time of our travel. We have our supply of masks and test kits ready to go. And we have the extra travel insurance. So here’s hoping all goes well.

Hi Christine,

We were on two back to back tours to Sicily and Southern Italy in April/May. As far as I know, no one tested positive for covid on either tour. Although not the Ireland tour, the situation can vary from tour to tour as someone pointed out. There is no way of predicting which tours will get hit by covid.

I'm trying to understand how the Covid situation on previous tours is going to affect it on your tour?

We are on your tour! I'm hoping our group has good mask compliance. We will be wearing masks and I hope our guide enforces Rick's covid policies.... Let's stay healthy! See you in July!

Just came home. From tour of 25, we had two cases: one early and one on second to last day.

Just returned June 12. We had 3 cases on the tour and two additional the day after the tour. Sadly,I was the 3rd and have no idea if there are others because we never shared emails. Our initial cases was the tour guide who oddly was not required to wear mask on bus as we were.

Our tour guides were required to test every tour day. I believe they all are.

Have you read, “Just tested POSITIVE not quite three days into tour” by Anne? BOI tour, and lots of detail.

Could you share where Anne's comments are? I would like to see if her experience was similar to mine. It was very stressful. Just learned of one more on our trip, total of 7.

Now I am interested in your experience, too.

I can't find "Ann".

I tested positive 3 days before the end. I was the third and I now know of 4 more. I understood and accepted that we must leave the group, but, it is a very erupt ending. For 11 days you have traveling companions and are making friends. You have no closure to it and I felt deserted, though I understood this is what I signed up for. I think there must be a better way to handle it. Just perhaps asking if you would like to share your email so people can say goodbye.

In Northern Ireland there are no Covid restrictions. There was no place we could get a monitored test for insurance requirements. The hotel was helpful in that we had not been able to get money for Northern Ireland. They did go the the pharmacy for us and buy tests and Tylenol. They provided breakfast and dinner, no lunch. I wised up the second day and ordered a very large breakfast!
I was not terribly sick just slept a lot.

The stress at the time was not knowing how long we would be there and what plans to make. I canceled all the reservations that I could but just did not know what to do about my airfare. When would I test negative and what about my husband? Fortunately, I did nothing, and notice of the testing requirement was announce Friday for the morning of June 12, my original air ticket, so we left.

On the travel forum, scroll down to the Tips and Tricks Reports. There is a Select Category box. Scroll to Covid 19 and Travel. Anne is there, the post was last updated 6/19.

So sorry to hear about your experience. We are definitely taking our own test kits plus the proctored ones, just in case. And plenty of masks. Hoping for the best.

Bet of luck, Christine. I do think we might have been an odd case.
The trip is wonderful, loved Dublin, Dingle and Kinsale. Make sure you seek out the pubs and music, it was wonderful!

Thanks, Ellen. We are trying to be positive and prepared. Seems just about everyone loves Ireland.
