My sister and I are taking the Best of Ireland in 14 Days tour next year. We're looking at a start date of March 29 or April 3. Both of these trips are over Good Friday/Holy Saturday/Easter. These are serious High Holy Days; will we encounter any issues with shopping/museums/places of interest during this weekend? I'm pretty confident Rick Steves has planned ahead, but thought I'd ask.
I think the toughest day will be Good Friday, 4/3. Looking at the itinerary, the 3/29 tour has you mostly taking in the scenery on that day. Interwebs say most places will be open in Dublin on Good Friday, so the 4/3 start isn't a huge issue. Good to arrive at least the day before, though, if possible.
IMO, check with the RS tour office to see what they have planned for these days during your tour. I do not doubt that they will be fully aware and make sure those 3 days are not do nothing days.
