We will be in Dublin in October and are interested one evening doing a Folk show with dinner. We saw there are several. Any recommendations on with is best show & food.

I went to 2. One was part of a 2-week tour, the other was on my own after the tour. Both were very touristy with mediocre food. However, I did learn a lot of folklore when I visited the Leprechaun Museum, which was lots of fun. For an evening entertainment, I highly recommend the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl.
I had some good dinners at pubs. There's usually just "pub food" downstairs with restaurant seating and full menus upstairs. I found lots of live trad music afternoons and evenings at the pubs in Temple Bar.
