Belfast to Lough Eske Castle Hotel

Hi there!

I am planning a trip for a coworker and trying to work out some of the details. She is planning on staying in Dublin for 1 night, then spending 2 nights in Belfast, traveling via the train. Then she wants to go from Belfast to Lough Eske Castle Hotel for one night and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get her there. She wants to do a tour of the Cliffs of Moher, but I thought that would be better to do the next day (when she checks out of Lough Eske Castle) and on her way back to Dublin. So, I guess I have two questions:

  1. What is the best way to get from Belfast to Lough Eske Castle?
  2. Is there a private tour that they can take from Lough Eske Castle area to Cliffs of Moher and then to Dublin?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

It looks like she will need to go through Derry, so either the train or the bus from Belfast to Derry and then a bus to Donegal Town, then a taxi, I guess.
I don't know how people find private drivers, so I can't offer any assistance with that.
You know that trying to do this itinerary without a car is insane, right? It may be a small island, but if you want to travel the whole length and breadth of it in 5 days, you need a car.

I agree with the above, this is almost the itinerary of the year for Ireland and I do mean that in a kind way.

There are flights from Donegal to Dublin, and the bus #30 from Donegal to Dublin Airport and Dublin. By public transport this is almost impossible. Not totally impossible but you seriously wouldn't like the timings needed to add the Cliffs of Moher.

To me Moher has to go.

A driver Donegal to Moher to Dublin is going to cost $$$., if you can find one. I would query the value of that to see the Cliffs.

I really appreciate the feedback. I thought this was a bit aggressive in a short time, but wanted to see if I was missing something as she had requested all of this. I will chat with her about changing things up a bit.

What I should have said is that if your friend is wanting cliffs she could do the Slieve League. Some contend they are better than Moher, and are in Donegal County!
The hotel concierge should be able to arrange a driver for that.
