Belfast to Dublin

At the end of the Rick Steve's 14 day trip to Ireland, what is the best way to get from Belfast to Dublin?
Thanks.

On April 18, we will be walking from the Europa hotel to the train station (3 min.), then the 785 Dublin Express bus (1 hour 50 minutes) to the Dublin airport. I'm sure the 785 bus would go on to Dublin City. The 705x bus would also work. I'd suggest downloading the TFI Live app, which makes figuring it out very easy.

On our tour, we stayed at the Hotel Europa in City Center. The station was next to the hotel on Glengall St. and our guide told everyone when and where to go to catch the express bus back to Dublin. He walked everyone over who was taking the bus back.

We personally arranged a black cab tour for the morning of departure and then had the driver drop us off at the train station to take the train back to Dublin.

Last May, my friend and I took the train from Dublin for a day trip to Belfast, and then returned that evening by train back to Dublin. I believe the train took about 2 1/4 hours.

I would take the train (the Enterprise)- I find it a nicer journey than taking the bus. It goes from the new Grand Central Station to Connolly station in Dublin.

If you are leaving from central Belfast take the train. If you are leaving from the airport take the bus.

Another vote for Aircoach bus - we took that from Belfast (Europa Hotel) directly to the Dublin Airport. Easy peasy return to the US....
