Is there a quick "scenic"route to Clifden from Belfast?
We would love to do the scenic route but not sure how much longer it will take.
Thanks,Sharon

Michelin suggests the route via A4 N16 N5, as the best "discovery" route. According to their time schedule, with no stops, it should take 6 hours 17 minutes. As a comparison, Michelin's quickest route is shown as 5 hours 53 minutes. - not a lot of difference. But you need to add about 25% to their time estimates because driving in Ireland can be deceptively slow. Only 54 miles of the discovery route is on motorway, and the rest will be on two lane highway, similar to our US highways. And if you plan to stop along the way to take pictures, eat lunch, etc., you need to add time for that, too. You can see the various routes at: www.viamichelin.com
