Would appreciate suggestions for one or two bases for day trip sight-seeing. Areas we want to see are Kilkenny, Kinsale, Dingle peninsula, and County Clare. Are there one or two locations where we could have a base? Don’t necessarily mind driving, obviously. We are traveling with young children so a base sounds good. Maybe one base for Kilkenny and Kinsale, another for Dingle and County Clare? Traveling over a 10-12 day period. TIA

For the areas around Kilkenny and Kinsale, Clonmel might be a reasonable, roughly midpoint option. Or the larger and more interesting Waterford, although driving distances would be greater.
In the West, Dingle town and Doolin hands down.
With only one base, you'd spend way too much time behind the wheel with little time to enjoy anything.

Kinsale and Kilkenny are about 110 miles apart. Even chosong a base like Clonmel you are going to spend a lot of time driving
The same applies to Dingle and County Clare. Somewhere like Listowel might work as a mid way base.
You may not mind driving but how good are the kids on long car journeys? Don't forget roads in Irleand acan be very slow... You might be better choosing 4 rather than 2 bases...
