Bank Holiday in Doolin

I was in Doolin many years ago during a bank holiday, and loved the energy, which included sharing a table with locals and lots of beer! I’m planning another trip for Aug., and tending to want to be there again during the Aug Bank Holiday. What are some thoughts- too crazy? Still great music and beer? Too touristy (I realize I’m one)? I’m also wondering about traditional music festivals (Feakle?). Mostly we want to enjoy pubs wherever we are and whatever sessions we come upon. Thanks!

There’s always live traditional music in Doolin. It doesn’t have to be a bank holiday. Obviously, there will be more on weekends and holidays, but I wouldn’t let that stop you from going. Yes, the beer is still great.

No need to go for a bank holiday.

We go to Ireland for the Guinness, pub music, and craiq while we see a few sights traveling between B&Bs (always located a short walk from said pub). I avoid bank holidays as best I can because the crowds become melees. We're headed there this May and we'll be near a pub with promised trad every night for three weeks. Sometimes in May the sessions are still weekly, and you have to plan accordingly, creating slightly illogical travel routes sometimes.
