Is there enough to do in Ballyvaughan? We'll have driven from Cahersiveen and will probably be a little tired. I thought it would be a good spot since we're driving to Dublin area the next day. Any good places to stop on our drive to Dublin?
Greetings from Ireland
Ballyvaughan wouldnt be the obvious choice for someone travelling all the way from Cahersiveen, thats a long long drive!
However, the fact that many people wouldnt choose Ballyvaughan may be a perfect reason to choose it.
Its a beautiful little village, emphasis on the little, its tiny. It has a couple of good pubs with good music, it is County Clare after all, and the Ailwee caves are nearby, one of the highlights of family holidays from my childhood spent each summer in nearby Galway.

Hi Stephen,
Thank you so much for your thoughts. When you say a long, long drive, how long will it take? I can cancel the reservations I've made, so if you think Ballyvaughan isn't doable, where would you suggest? I actually had thought of heading east after we left the ROK, possibly toward Waterford, but thought I'd be back tracking. Any suggestions?
By the way, if you ever get to Ohio, I'd be pleased to help with your itinerary!

Have you or will you have spent time in Adare? It would break up your drive and give you an easy route onward to Dublin the next day.
Hi Peggy
Well its about 3.5 - 4 hours straight, not counting in a coffee/lunch break and all the wonderful historic attractions and towns you'll be zooming past without stopping and you will surely be tempted to!
But it can be done, and Ballyvaughan is lovely.
Waterford is a nice overnight also. I'd only stay for one night in either though. Just my opinion, albeit a professional one.
